Doesn't Michael Palin claim that Bolton is the palindrome of Ipswich (or vice versa)?
and John Cleese says that the palindrome of Bolton is Notlob

Dragging my memory back - I can't remember what the "palindrome" was - I thought it was Leeds, but may have to do some digging to confirm.
I've just noticed that it had to be a palindrome because of who says it! It's taken me 20 years to see the joke.
