Honeymoon Rock, The Isle of Mull, Argyll, Scotland

1 Conversation

This massive stone, surrounded by the remains of a wall, can be found at Griban on the Isle of Mull, which itself is off the west coast of Scotland. Legend has it that years ago a newly wed couple had their small honeymoon house in the exact spot where the rock now stands today. They hadn't bargained on the rock detaching itself from the cliffs above, hurtling down the hill and smashing down on top of them. The couple, not surprisingly, still reside beneath the rock, and boulders continue to fall from the foreboding cliff faces. Any modern day honeymooners travelling in the area are advised to err on the side of caution, for the rock serves as a reminder to all, we can never be quite sure what tomorrow may bring.
