Illinois, USA

Illinois, the calm center of hurricane USA. Well, except Chicago. Illinois(pronounced ill-ih-NOY) can be summed up in three words: Chicago, corn, and soybeans. Chicago dominates the northern part of the state with all its hoity-toity commerce, while the rest of the state is smothered in corn and soybeans. To that effect, Illinois contains the soybean capitol of the world1, Decatur, as well as such oddly-named towns as Oblong, Normal, Kankakee, De Kalb2, Dudleyville, Pana, Keys, Riddle Hill, and Cornland3. Then there is the list of names Illinois ripped off of other existing places: Peru, Havana, Paris, Cuba, East St. Louis, West Frankfurt, Rome, Athens, Panama, Bolivia, Toronto, Berlin... the list goes on and on.
