On Halloween, Xander is invited to a college party, where they encounter Gachnar, a 6 inch fear demon who he dutifully taunts!
Xander lands himself a job in a pub on campus, but when some of the patrons, including Buffy, start turning into cave people, he discovers that the beer is responsible and sets out to try and reverse the effects.
His next job on a construction site creates even more problems when he accidently releases the spirit of a Chumash indian who is after revenge. New girlfriend and ex-vengeance demon, Anya, believes he has been cursed and they go to the scoobies for help. Willow's research indicates that he has syphillis.
After an arguement with Anya, Xander goes to a party, where the guests hormones kick into overdrive. Its discovered that Buffy and Riley are responsible for unleashing the sexual frustrations of the spirits of the repressed children who used to live there. Xander and Anya fight their way through to save them, with the help of a spell by Willow and Tara.

When Spike tells Xander his friends think he'd be better off in the army, he starts to question their frienship and feels betrayed by them. By letting off steam in an argument with them, his doubts and worries come to a head.
When it is realised that Spike was trying to separate them, they make up and combine their strengths to defeat Adam.
Xander's dominating father is a big issue in a dream he has and the fear of being stuck in the basement forever is also playing on his mind. His strong feelings for Willow (and Tara) are also revealed in the dream when they invite him into the back of his ice cream truck for a new sexual adventure.

When Xander meets Dracula, he falls under his spell and becomes his 'eyes in the day', taking Buffy to Dracula's castle, where she defeats him.
A demon named Toth has a few surprises for Xander too, when he splits him in half, one half having all his strongest points, the other the weaker. Xander is convinced the other him is the demon, as its living his life better than he does. The two Xanders are eventually put back together and he realises that he has more potential than he gives himself credit for!
Xander's carpentry skills become almost legendary, as he spends alot of his time boarding up windows and either mending or replacing broken furniture.
In the final battle against Glory, Xander proves to Spike that he does have some skills when he "picks up a spare" with a bulldozer.

With Glory defeated, Xander announces his engagement to Anya.
In a bid to ensure everyone gets a 'happy ending' Xander summons a demon named Sweet, who causes the residents of Sunnydale to burst into song, and occsionally flame.
On his wedding day, Xander gets a visit from a man he believes to be his future self. He places doubt in his own mind and calls off the wedding.
When Tara gets killed and Willow goes on a murderous rampage, Xander protects Jonathan and Andrew from her. When Willow steals all Giles' magic, it enables Xander to reach the last bit of humanity left in her and ultimately save the world!!
