h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I hear that Douglas Adams is currently in collusion with Disney to make the film version (at long last) of THHGTTG. My votes for cast members are :

Zaphod - Mel Gibson ?
Ford Prefect - Michael Keaton
Trillion - Sandra Bullock (Blonde of course)
Arthur - Hugh Grant

Any more news... or cast suggestions ?

Ford - Richard E. Grant or Eddie Izzard
Trillian - Madonna or that girl who plays 7 of 9 in ST Voyager
Arthur - Alan Davies
Slartibartfast - Dennis Hopper, David Bowie or Billy Connolly
Vogon Captain - Terry Jones

Especially Jim Carey for Zaphod.
Can't see Madonna as a Trillian somehow though, although there is some confusion over the characterisation of Trillian. The original radio had her as a highly intelligent, articulate, attractive, ungettable type, but the TV had her as a kind of bimbo-whos-supposed-to-be-intelligent kind (ie Sandra Dickinson).

P.S. Did this get posted in a wrong area ?

I agree with you about Trillian, it's difficult to suss out exactly what DNA is after in her character. 7 of 9 would be some nice eye-candy, though Actually Sandra Bullock came across as a pretty sussed girl on that Ruby Wax show (where they both waitressed in a busy diner), so maybe - who knows. I suppose all this won't amount to a hill of beans, I assume it's down to budget, availability and stuff like that. Maybe it's already been cast, or even filmed!

Yeah, as you posted it under 'Football' it probably was the wrong place, but what the hell...at least it stops me thinking about all the crap going on at Newcastle (my team ).
