Scott, from Zimbabwe, worked at the The John Ridgway School of Adventure and the Cape Adventure International up in Ardmore during the summer of 2003 before being asked whether he would like to join up with John, Marie Christine and Nick to crew on the first leg. Scott, who had never sailed before, leapt at the chance.
