One of the oddest things to be found in the history of this county are more natural monstrosities.
The foremost must surely be the figure of Edward Bright who lived in the 18th century.
Edward Bright was a grocer in the town of Maldon. He was a very caring father and a valuable friend.
When he died in 1750 at the age of twenty-nine, he weighed 42 stone. His coffin was huge, six feet seven inches long and three feet six over the shoulders.
