'Schoolhouse Rock' - Children's Television Programme
Created | Updated Jul 7, 2003
Conjunction junction, what's your function?
Hooking up words and phrases and clauses...
Ask anyone who grew up in the 1970s in America about grammar, arithmetic or even the legislative process and they're likely to hum a snatch of song from Schoolhouse Rock.
Not so much as a television programme as a series of animated shorts set to catchy music, Schoolhouse Rock was designed to teach children in the USA while they watched mindless cartoons on Saturday mornings. They were sneaky about it - tucked in amongst the commercials were these 3-minute shorts which were educational and fun.
Making learning fun and memorable, what a novel concept!
Blah, blah, blah...
Multiplication Rock
It all started with maths.
Grammar Rock
My personal favourites...
America Rock
Shot heard 'round the world, it was the start of the revolution...
Science Rock
Odd that I can't remember much of these...
