I find the best method of avoiding clipboards is to lurk at a safe distance until they pounce on someone else, then walk past quickly while they are busy with this person. Make sure you walk behind them though because if the exchange is short you are more likely to get away if they can't see you.
I find the best way to get rid of clipboard-wielders is to pretend to be about 12, although as I'm now 20 I don't think this will work much longer (except on the phone, but that's a different subject).

Yes, that's also a good point and maybe should be added, but the entry is mainly describing prcedures should you run into a clipboarder minefield, rather than the odd one or two
