0 Conversations


There are two ways of doing a Guest Book.
The first will start a new conversation in your conversation forum every time someone post to the Guest Book.

The second will use one conversation thread,and every time someone posts to the Guest Book it will go in the same conversation every time.


They are written like this ( with out the numbers smiley - winkeye )

    FIRST METHOD

    SECOND METHOD

  2. SUBJECT="HELLO TO MANDA"
  3. BUTTON="PRESS HERE"

  6. PLEASE LEAVE ME A MESAGE HERE
  7. </GUESTBOOK>


PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN NUMBERS, SEE BELOW TO FIND OUT HOW.



And That Will Give You This

The first line of the code is the one that tell the Guest Book were you want the conversation to go.

So if you put the first line like this
<GUESTBOOK FORUM="12345"

it is telling the Guest Book that you want it to start a new conversation every time

But if you put it like this
<GUESTBOOK INREPLYTO="34358352"
The you are telling it that every post is to go in the same conversation,



To find your OWN FORUM NUMBER,,,

Go to your own page, Then were people leave you messages, click on the button as if you are going to leave yourself a message,
In the URL in the address bar of your browser you will see
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/AddThread?forum=12345&article=734861

In there you will see
?forum=12345
that will be your forum number


To get your own INREPLYTO number.

If you start the conversation that you want the Guest Book to go to,and post somthing to it

Then go to the first reply in that conversation ( the one that you started it with ) and run you mouse over the "REPLY" button, then the address will pop up,

at the end of that address you will see the "INREPLYTO" number, that is the number you use
