Surely it WON'T be long. The mobile phone/watch combo is already coming. To quote fonetastic.com:

"Samsung has unveiled a GPRS mobile phone that can be worn on the wrist as a conventional watch. The GPRS Class 10 watch phone offers 90 minutes of continuous talk time and up to 80 hours of standby time. The handset also supports voice dialing and polyphonic ring tones
Sang Jin Park, Senior Vice President & General Manager for Mobile Communication Devices, Telecommunication Network Business of Samsung Electronics said "Consumer research tells us that people want lightweight phone solutions, as part of the need to stay in touch wherever they go and whatever they are doing."
The dual-band phone which weighs less than 80 grams including battery and measures just 37.8 x 64 x 17.7 mm. The phone supports WAP1.2, Bluetooth and speakphone technology. The handset also includes a 256 OLED (Organic LED) colour screen with a 96x45 pixel resolution. The phone will go on sale just in time for Christmas.

It's hard to imagine anything that the Japanese couldn't fit into a watch. Ok... maybe a pizza oven but I'll hedge my bets on that one too.
