Absolutely, I've seen this film tens if not hundreds of times and it still utterly terrifies me. My only complaint is that I never got to see John Hurt give birth to a healthy, bouncing xenomorph 'untainted' by foreknowledge.
The sets, the design, the mounting sense of claustrophobic dread, the cat (Jonesy! Supercat!).
And, of course, the groundwork for a seminal sequel.
