A Conversation for Great Horror Movies

Invasion of the Body Snatchers

The pod people! Who's next? I read somewhere that the director used a technique of having the protagonist (Kevin McCarthy) being caught in smaller and smaller places, giving a feeling of suffocation to the viewer.

And sometimes I think it was a documentary ... so you better know the words to "Satisfaction" ... smiley - martianfrown

I have to post to this one. Not only was this my first real horror movie but it scared that liver out of me. Just imagine the effect of telling a 9 year old that the pods were going to take you over WHEN YOU FELL ASLEEP! Was that a recipe for several sleepless nights, or what? I couldn't watch it for years after, and when I finally did it still had most of the punch it had originally. A classic for many reasons. Some believe it was a metaphor for the Red menace but I only knew it as great scary entertainment.
