Excuse me if any of these are listed or have been mentioned in the forums. They were sent to me by a member of a small, informal private list I operate:

Nemo repente fuit turpissimus -- Juvenal: ii. 83.
No man is born entirly evil.

Homo sum: humani nil a me alienum puto. (Terence)
Nothing human is alien to me.

Quodcumque ostendis mihi sic, incredulus odi. -- Horace
Anything you press on me, I discredit and revolt at.

Ut est aemulatio divinae rei et humanae. --Tertullian
God's ways are at odds with human ways.

nam castum esse decet pium poetam
ipsum, uersiculos nihil necesse est -- Catullus 16. 5-6
[tho' the dedicated poet has to be decent,
there's no need for his verses to be]

Te audire no possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure.
I can't hear you, I have a banana in my ear.

(I like the last one best. smiley - bigeyes)
