Hi Websailor, it seems that during routine blood tests at the cardiac clinic I showed up as having a B12 and Folate deficiency with fewer than normal quantities of red blood cells and those I had were 'enlarged'. Initial diagnosis was of pernicious aneamia but subsequent tests seem to indicate a more problematic cause. Hence scans and camera job which will take a duedenal biopsy at same time. Subject to those results further tests and/or treatment will be made. The camera job is on 20th sept. Follow up will be about a week to 10 days after.
I've had a batch of 6 B12 jabs since and put on Folic Acid tabs daily. I'll need B12 jabs every 3 mths from now on.
Oh, we went through my diet over the last few months or so and the conclusion was its not the cause,I'm on a fairly good, balanced diet as it turns out. (surprised me, cos I ain't the best cook in the world. )
Have to wait and see what happens after the tests. I'll keep you and others posted accordingly.

My Dad had pernicious anaemia an had to have B12 injections. Not good news for you but at least it is being investigated and hopefully they will be able to do something about it.

I had been going to ask if you fancied visiting one day, if it isn't too far to come, but it seems you have a lot on your plate at the moment. Maybe when all your follow ups have ben one.

Oh, and I am fine, thanks for asking. Except I somehow deleted all the photos I took at Middleton, which has upset me greatly. It was a special day.
