I enjoyed this - China is not a place I'm ever likely to visit, but it sounds like you had an excellent time and explored the area well.

The monorail is fascinating, that it is so difficult to access yet the trains themselves are accessible. Sounds like they have adopted some trains from Disneyworld!

The escalator is fascinating, too, that it is like a ride that people pay to travel on for 2½ minutes!

I've added in a few links and made just a few tweaks, so I hope it is still OK for you, but if there is anything else you would like me to change, let me know.

Just one problem - the section on the Chinese Civil War and the martyrs seems to be confused over the years 1948, 1949 and 1950. I'll look up all those dates again and get back to you.

In the section "History of Chongqing",

In the last stages of the Chinese Civil War which ran from 1927 to 1949
-- change 1949 to 1950

In the section "The Lieshimu Martyrs' Memorial"

used Chongqing as their headquarters from 15 October to 27 November
