Hi,
Having just joined this conversation at the distant far end, even though it is obviously the most recent, I feel quite removed from the source of control, and it's basic ideas, which seemed to be not only sound, but very important too. Any chance of a tidy up, and putting the valid items in focus? A great deal of good information has been lost in the tangled thread, many great questions have been asked,but seldom aswered.

I assume you are talking of the police law enforcement thread and I couldn't agree more that it has been lost in its own tangles.smiley - smiley

However my net access is a bit erratic at the moment, but I will try to trawl through the thread, extract info, questions and so on as soon as I get a chance. (Would appreciate any help you care to give with this).

I agree the police is an important subject, deserving comprehensive entries covering it, and I hope that I can get my thread to prompt a few entries.

Thanks for the reply and yes I will assist if you wish,my specialist subjects are, Police,Police Dog working, Crime Detection, and also Transport, all extremely important facts of life today, more than ever before.
I have a few pieces in Non Fiction Revue, one that should create interest is a Crime Competion, open to all interested parties of any ability at all.

If it helps, I have had a quick run through the postings and picked out twenty five contributions as useful and informative. I chose them because they were all dead on target,no ego boosters, and all were capable of development.

Others may fit the criteria required for success, but the above stood out of the posting as the most useful to me at the time.

I would also like to comment, on a few few main points of sound English law distributed and welcomed throughout the world from Empire building times. Also on recent home spun law made by our Barrister Type M.P.s, mostly for benefit in kind or to reduce work for the police.

Laws have had to be tightened due to immigration policies and the import of organised criminals from all over the world. Unfortunately some of our most useful laws have disappeared or been erroded by the latest useless legislation.

We have lost the right to free speech.

The rights that went with the saying, " An Englishman's home is his castle" have disappeared and even the word English is not welcome in some hospitals.

The Union flag itself is not displayed in many areas without adverse reactions.

The warning caution in our laws, designed to prevent a suspect from making an incriminatiing statement at the time of arrest, has been altered in order to do away with the right to remain silent.

Innocent until proven guilty, no longer applies in some cases,and as a direct result. Evidence of probabilty and percentages, on the words of so called expert witnesses giving biased evidence, has resulted in many innocent persons being convicted and jailed. Sally Clark is an obvious example, it was obvious from the very beginning that the lady was an innocent victim of our ridiculous system. And I was one of the many who supported her.

As a direct result of the do-gooders who have weakened our best laws, and the and poor quality M.P.s who carried out their wishes, we now have no go areas in our country, where even our police do not go unless mob-handed and wearing armour.
Where on earth do we go from here.?

Thanks for the note, no hurry, plenty of time for thought, and computer updates. Computer crashes are a nuisance, but not a life and death matter really. I had a serious debate with my son yesterday, about hackers and banking, "no problem" he said, " the banks have to stand the loss." Within a few hours Nat West, had gone down for the day, and we were getting updates on the news about fishing trips on the net, followed by a disguised warning that, if you do not heed the warnings in the usual small print regarding such matters, the banks may in the future not accept liability for all losses. That is really an extension of the old get out clause " We can not insure against neglect."

On the subject of computer fraud, a crime that can only grow swiftly, I received a pop up while I was on G.W. Until I printed it out I thought that it was genuine. I have the latest virus protection and this pop up got through despite the good protection. It said "Congratulations, you are the millionth contributor to this site, presumably G.W. I had won a prize worth over a thousand pounds, warning bells rang on seeing the tiny print at the bottom of the page that a sum of £250 would be needed for admin fee. This is the time to click off, but there was a free?? telephone number included and I checked it out, the crafty monkeys had built in a clock with a time response, if you did not beat the clock
you missed the prize. When I was asked for bank details, I said that I did not have a bank account and the American accented person hung up.
No longer qualifying for this wonderful offer by an obvious time default, I rang the same number two days later, lo and behold, the offer was still open, strange isn't it two days later and I am still the one millionth visitor to the site.

It is scary how many parasites there are out there

I block all pop ups out of principle.

Hi,
Thanks for the mail,I was just having a bit of fun on the other channel with John Doe, great guy. There are some very talented people on G.W.
Re the parasites they seem to have taken over in all directions,I think I am paranoid too on such matters, my kids think so because I will not have credit cards, sooner pay cash or cheque. Now I think they are relizing for themselves that what I was saying all along was correct. What annoys me most at the moment is the telephone ringing at meal times, people fishing for information and using my phone for their business,I am afraid that I am getting quite offensive to them now. Sometimes I do be quite nice when the devil is in me, I let them get quite relaxed and then I say "Oh while you are on the phone,can I sell you some double glazing. I have been quite busy, I am having a go at the top man at the moment, regarding my specialty, Transport, by a coincidence, I had no sooner posted the result of a few hours red hot typing, when the subject really blasted off on T.V. Hellish good timing eh! I will post the result in due course, I touched all the right nerves, and I have proof in writing to confirm all points raised, should be a good result. Cheers H.
