Fast Food / Junk Food in Hamburg
This site is still under heavy construction. What should be up here in a couple of weeks is a short listing of the best junk food places in and around Hamburg, Germany including lots of nice little pictures of the places and their goods! To give you a lead here are some really good places:

BATMAN, located on the not so scenic Steindamm right next to te old Savoy theare is known for its superb Döners-not made from minced meat but real chunks of meat. The thin bread wrapping the Döner is made on location in view of the customers, as is the whole rest of the production process. Use the cheap take away price of DM5 avoiding the heafty surcarge for dining in (DM6!! More than the actual cost of the Döner).

Falaffel König, located next to the infamous Sternschanzen Bahnhof features among its offerings of arabic sweets the best Falaffels in town. They are very close to the ones I got in Syria. Spend the extra Deutsch Mark and get the one with humus for DM6.

Christel's Comestibles is a slightly more upmarket non seating restaurant located at the fringe of the university district on the Grindelalle (Grindelallee 148, tel.: 040/4106322). The prices vary from DM3.90 for a soup of the day to DM7.90 to DM8.90 for a selection of standard Italian dishes ranging from fried eggplant to spagetti Pavarotti (yes, exactly like the big voice himself likes them, served every friday).

<A HREF="http://www.yumi-yumi-eiszeit.de/" >http://www.yumi-yumi-eiszeit.de/">Eiszeit</A> has got the best ice cream in town. They've got two locations and varying opening times, check their homepage! One scoup of ice cream is DM1.00, the chocolate and the forest master (this is really what it is called) are highly recomended but so is the rest of their offerings!
