Pencil Shavings

4 Conversations

Have you ever wondered about Pencil shavings? You know, the scraps of wood left behind after you've sharped your pencil. Pencil Shavings have long been unapreciated in this world. They do not get the credit or respect they deserve.

Pencil shavings have so many uses, including the following;
*When enough is collected they could be recycled to make more pencils (an important tool to survive life on earth).
*They could be soaked in petrol and burned as fuel.
*Pencil shapener shavings can be put into car engines by car dealers of the dodgy persuation to help them cheat and deceive the public.
*Depending on the colour of the pencil, you can have loads of different coloured shavings and they then make a lovely rainbow effect when gathered together.
*Instead of common old straw, tie pencil shavings together in a bundle and throw them into oil spills. It will soon be all soaked up!
*Alternative bedding for your pet.
*Join them all together in a mushy mess and make your own paper!
*If stranded on a desert island, build a house, raft or fan out of them. If you are really desperate you could probably eat them too.
*Hours of fun in intensive competition trying to make the longest pencil shaving!!
*If many tons of them are collected they can be spread around childrens play areas for a cheap but safe cusioning system.
*But the most important, and useful thing pencil shavings can ever do is be brushed off of the table onto the carpet, making a mess that is impossible to clean without employing the use of a hoover. Perfect for those long, boring lessons in school when you know it will annoy the teacher to the point of no return. But you can't be caught. You can't proove it was your pencil or that you sharpened it at that moment. The perfect crime!!

Next time you are sharpening your pencil, spare a thought for what happens to the shavings. You may find the answer to world peace and harmony!!
