Roadworks update!
Finally, the roadworks have finished!! Yippee! Now we have a filter lane / traffic lights / other stupid 'traffic calming' which will undoubtedly 'ease traffic congestion'. By the way, 'ease traffic congestion' is governmentese which even babel fish can't translate :-) I think the translation for 'ease traffic congestion' is probably 'make life hell for all local citizens while getting rid of all that spare white paint we have in the cupboard'. Maybe I should start an entry on governmentese...
Dukes Walk - Description
Dukes Walk is a new shopping centre in the middle of town, slap bang in the middle of what used to be the biggest car park in Waterlooville. They are supposed to building a multi-storey car park, so eventually everything will be alright, but in the meantime, the number of parking places are strictly limited. See car park below.

There is a Waitrose, a video rental place, a mobile phone shop and a couple of other shops, including several vacant ones.
Dukes Walk - Car Park
The car park at Dukes Walk is the worst designed car park in the galaxy. For a start it winds all over the place to get in, but the worst feature is it's single point of entry. Let me explain:
When you go in to the car park, there are three main rows of parking spaces. However, to get to the second and third, you have to drive all the way down the first. This means that there are permanent queues to get into the car park. It also means that if someone is reversing out of a space in the first row, nobody can get past to park in the other rows. Unbelievable. You have to see it to believe it!
