Well that's different! Given the weather, I'd have expected the problem to be compacted snow or iced up points..
The snow here looks very pretty in the sunshine, must be time to wrap up warm and go play in it

Dogs holding up trains isn't that* unusual... I was once held up on a train, a few hundred yards from the destination station I wanted, by a dog on the tracks, for two hours. The dog was dead. We had to wait for RSPCA or something of that ilk to come out and pronounce it dead, as opposed to just resting

This dog was moving apparently, the train in the other direction managed to shoo it along and off the tracks so we could continue.
We have had some snow, a couple of inches yesterday. Enough to make it look pretty. Enough to make the walk to the station a bit slippery this morning. Not enough to stop me getting to work so I could stay home and play
