I hate having to make choices, but i sometimes have to make some.

I keep getting told that choice X is the most important choice i will make in my life;

does this mean that with every choice we make, the next one will be a higher level of importance, so making the one you are deciding over pointless?

or;
does it mean that the choice you make is the most important choice in your life - At that Moment? (that doesn't seem to make sense really!)

or;
Maybe people say that to make you feel like that choice will make a difference - when it might only be a insignificant difference.

I can't help thinking that each single choice cannot affect your life so much, it's more a series of choices that lead up to the place you are in, what you do and the person you are.

The most important decision you'll make? Piffle. I reckon that when you wrote this journal entry there were probably educational issues at stake. It seems like that sort of entry!

Yes, you're slap bang in the middle of a time where your decisions will have far reaching consequences for the rest of your life, but you can have no idea what those consequences will be. The life you (or those around you) have mapped out WILL NOT HAPPEN. You'll meet people that change your perspective; you'll do things that change your interests; you, as a person, will change.

Few decisions you make will have much impact on your life. The ones that *do* have the most impact you probably won't notice you were making in the first place.

Christ, I went from being a picked on pillock to a tripping hippy to a bleedin' tax collector. The one constant has been music, and that was a decision that was made for me when I was six years old.

Nake the decision you feel is for the best, but don't expect it to mean much in the long term. Life's too interesting for that...

i'm trying to remember why i wrote this journel entry

and i remember:
it was because it was supposed to be my first 'proper journel entry',
I had just been thinking of Key Stage 2 SATs and how we were told how important they were, then Key Stage 3 SATs, then what GCSEs you took were the most important, then what job you took or what A-levels.

I was a bit confused...
