If, because of naked greed and self interest, the US didn't sabotage global agreements, then utopia, while probably not attainable, would at least be thinkable.

The US, through its funding of many Afghan-terror groups in their stand against the USSR, can be traced to the rise of the current fundamental Islamist Afghan leadership
