Ah. Never mind, I taped* it last time it was on.

*By "taped", I mean "recorded", as I have a DVD recorder and haven't actually recorded anything onto video tape for about three years now, but the phrase "I disked it last time it was on" still doesn't sound right.

""I disked it last time it was on""

I still don't see what's wrong with 'recorded', as that's used no matter what it's recorded on.

It's just a matter of trying to remember not to say "taped" after all these years of tape being the only option.

A Super Furry Animal

What's needed is some kinda simple, monosyllabic description of the event that is non-medium-specific...

Given the increasing prevalence of hard-disk-related new products being invented these days, perhaps "saved" is the answer?

RFsmiley - evilgrin

Proverbs 26:11

I'm not really here

We've been using the rather grand term of 'saved'. smiley - ok ie 'can you save it for me?'

Probably easier in my house as J has grown up with the concept of 'saving' things. When I was a kid, 'saving' something usually meant the empty bottles to take back to the shop for the 2p.

I've also used 'I put it on the disc for you' which I feel is probably what's going to be the main way of talking about it!

Whereas the people doing the piracy would probably prefer the word "warezd", albeit in mixed case and littered with leetspeak such as

"0mfG 1 Hax0Rd teH wAreZd upla0d C0dEz!!!!!!!!!11111one one one."

although much worse.
