On this day in 1956, England's spin bowler Jim Laker took all 10 Australian first innings wickets for 88 runs in 46 overs at the Oval Test Match. In the second innings, he took a further 9 wickets, the 10th being picked up by fellow spin bowler Tony Lock.

Why do I mention this? Well at the time my mother was a Test Cricket fanatic and would not miss a single ball no matter what.
