Glad to see you're all safe and dry. Trust me to get here too late
for Mr and Mrs P and household and neighbours.

The worst is over - we are officially declared a disaster area which frees up federal dollars for things like bridges.
We were actually very lucky at my end of town as there was no real damage to homes and no loss of life. A few miles up this was not the case as two people are missing and a number of homes were flooded and a few actually washed into the river.
To see the worst of it I think you can go to youtube and search for "ruidoso" - or look here as I think there are some videos to watch

We don't get much water in the desert, it's true - but what we do get often comes all at once. Plus, where I am is high desert and the mountains tend to scrub more moisture from passing clouds.

That really looks like disaster area.
Glad you and yours didn't suffer any damage to your home and health.

<> Thank YOU to the who were listening, now send the clean-up squad
I hope the missing people are found for their families, in whatever condition,
to you all, and your neighbours.

Not good! Hope you're ok and cleanup is going well.
(*insert not-so-fond memories of having to put the lambs in the bathroom when it rained heavily*)

Our local radio station used to have a fully grown in the studio on Fridays. Its name was Manfred.
Hope the situation is better?

The bridge is now put back - have a look at the last three pics in the album to see
It's all very exciting and we're almost back to normal and only slightly tizzy.
It finally paid off being an engineer because the powers that be took me seriously when I suggested that the bridge was sound and could be hoisted back into place. This morning some very heavy equipment rolled up to the site, drivers peeked over the turrets, clapped on their helmets and made tracks down one river bank and up the other - just like john wayne going over the hill at iwo jima. Eight hours later the bridge was in place.
