h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I have to make a presentation.

In a group.

For 10% of one of my uni moduals

Our random subject is: A website and how it hits/misses its targets.

The group discussion went as follows:
A - "Lets do the bbc"
Me *slight smile*
B - "Yeah, thats a big site - gives us lots to talk about
Me *smile grows*
A - "Why don't we take a subpage of the site each"
B -"Good idea, that means if we get some noshows it doesn't matter"
Me *Trying not to burst out laughing at my luck "Yeah, why not"
A - "I'll do the frount page to tie it all together"
B - "I'll do the childrens section"
Me - *innocently* "I'll see if they have an online community I could say a bit about"

Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I can get 10% of my modual marks talking about h2g2. (And I suppose I could look at the other discussion boards)

So anything you people think I should mention?

Hmm..gratuitous smiley usage as a disturbing growing trend among our youth? A day in the life of a Nighthoover worshipper? H2G2 addiction in general? Hehe.

Hey nyss! Looks like I had to do some research after all - I needed things like facts. Finding when the site was created and when it was taken by the bbc and so on.

I did manage to mention nighthoover. Bonus points!

Or to word it differently I spent my computer lab session on h2g2 in the name of work

As I said across the thread my me hurts. Im also nervous. Then again come 2pm I may well be posting my 20/20 mark up here. Well I can dream can't I?

And it is unecassary - when is a programmer going to be expected to deal with real people? Can't I make my presentation to computer cluster 4 instead?

Fortunately they didn't notice.
I think that tells you about the quality of student these days.
The person marking it noticed though...

Fortunately he gave us a chance to explain ourselves.
And while I cant speech to the masses I am one hell of a bullshitter
So we got 18/20 Result!

Didn't get there the way I intended, but I got there - and thats what really matters.

In my book, bullsh*tting is up there with genius and spiritual gifts like prophesy or speaking in tongues .

Oh hell yes! It takes a certain skill and a fair amount of balls to talk to a crowd about a topic that a) you know nothing about or b)you know your facts are completely wrong.

Oi! My facts were accurate - I only got the topic wrong :P
I couldn't bullshit a crowd with any sucsess - I was nervous enough when I got it right.
But if the lecturer is going to say "Persuade me that your interepretation was a valid one" to me. Debating, Rules-Lawyering, Pedantic me there was a snowballs hope in hell of me losing that one
