Good bye Johnny, good bye Johnny!
He was the Man in Black.
Now he rode into the sunset,
of some eternal sunrise,
his voice stays grumbling back.
Cry, cry, cry

Yes, one's been so used to them being around. Gregory Peck, what a regal man. And Charles Bronson, the silent avenger. Leni Riefenstahl also has just died undaunted at 101, she was persona non grata in Germany, but what photographic work!
When the news of Johnny Cash's Parkinson affliction came the idea that the man couldn't play his guitar no more, gone the effortlessness of his singing, was almost unbearable to me. And then totally unexpectedly he came out with those powerful new albums in a voice like cracked iron.
But it seems he didn't really want to go on much longer after June Carter's death, some of these married couples are like that, one won't survive the other for long.
Cry, cry, cry

Cry cry cry indeed,
the spirit of Johnny lives on in the Alabama 3 and their fantastic 'hello, I'm Johnny Cash'
