Last night I watched the annual "Eurovision Song Contest". Here are my uncensored thoughts on the night's proceedings...
CYPRUS was possibly the worst boyband ever, terrible hair on the head and on the chins united kingdom she has a great voice, and the song wasn't too bad. the outfit, however, was absolutely terrible AUSTRIA what the hell was he doing with his arms?! GREECE I voted for these - the dance routine with the legs will become a classic. Also, adored the matching clothing ensambles (big, manly shoulders!) SPAIN i can't remember...CROATIA the most beautiful woman i have seen in a long time. not such a great singer though. RUSSIAN FEDERATION the only boyband who are uglier than nsync, and the song's lyrics made no sense! ESTONIA yes terry it did sound like R Kelly, and the woman looked like something out of atomic kitten. MACEDONIA absolutely loved the dress change - my xena fetish probably. the leaves on the hair were a nice touch and i have no recollection of the song. ISRAEL nope, sorry. SWITZERLAND she was so incredebly cute! shame about the cheap halle berry knock-off dress though. SWEEDEN their dresses were evil, and would be unflattering on anyone. what were the lead singer's breasts doing? FINLAND possible yazz revival? DENMARK i think she wore something dodgy, nothing else memorable though. BOSNIA I liked their dance! BELGIUM like a fat eminem only cooler, he did backflips! FRANCE scary, scary woman. singing something about soldiers. GERMANY i just remember leather pants. TURKEY another great dance routine, and trendy purple outfits. MALTA i fancied her too, she seemed really sweet and sung her heart out. romania big woman and little bald man, she had great breasts though. SLOVENIA digging the air hostess outfits! really brave move, respect. LATVIA great routine and outfits, but really nothing special otherwise (sounded like 'sunshine after the rain' too) LITHUANIA really dodgy sweaters. also, bad, evil ponytail on the lead guy under his flatcap.

Sorry, lol. I think I got a bit carried away with the ah-may-zing preformances to tell you the truth!
The presenters were as they always are at Eurovision: pretty, skinny blonde bi-lingual woman and suspicious strange-haired man who thinks he's funny. Thing was, these two were actually quite likable (though nothing can compare with last year's Danish 'Dr Death and the Tooth Fairy'*
The atmosphere was fantastic, a crowd who seemed to be really enthusiastic about every entry. The voting was funny, with strange unexplained (and unmentioned by Terry for some bizzare reason!) cartoon mice occasionally coming out of Switzerland.
All in all, Estonia put on a good show. Roll on Latvia I say...

I had no idea you were Estonian, that's so cool! Good job I didn't slag your country off, really (not that there was any reason too, as I said it was excellent)
Were you at the event? Who did you vote for? (I voted for Greece-it was a comedy classic!) and what were your thoughts?

*giggles*
I am quite satisfied with the organizational things. Basicly I don't like the contest as the songs are really so boring.
I voted for Belgium. He was funny and kinda real.
I was not at the event, I am not so much interested in it and anyway, the prizes of the tickets were made for "rich europeans" not for average estonians.
Most of all I liked the little things between the songs. From those it looked like we are quite nation.

How can you call the songs boring?! They weren't good, but they vertainly weren't boring (well, apart from the French one...and a few others. In general though, I was very entertained)
The "fairy tale" bits you mean? They were impressive, and your country looked lovely but I'm in serious doubts about Frankenstein being a fairy tale!

I still think they were boring, I don't feel like I'd want to hear them again.
Yes, those fairy tales.

Its been lovely discussing eurovision with a native, but I have to go do some politics revision now, my books are getting lonely. Have a lovely day! xx
