TIRED but content. Raining outside...like some weird washed out painting. Humid.
I bought 4 books yesterday :
Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" - which Im still reading. It is fantastic so far. Absolutely fantastic.
"The Holy Koran" - seeing as it was £2.99 I figured 'why not' and it's proved just as identical and boring as the Bible. Yawn yawn yawn. Will perserve.
Eric -something-or-other's`"Mall" - Well written, well developed. Will be looking up more of his work. Too tired to go and find out his second name.
Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories" - one of the only good things about my childhood.
I am the cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me.
Best creation, best quote
The Boy likes me! I like The Boy!
Lets see what happens...

If you liked Brave New World (excellent book I thought) you might like to read The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood, a very good Canadian writer. Like BNW it focuses on the dystopic future, but unlike BNW and 1984 the society isn't hailed as utopic, merely as utilising available resources. It is also written from a womans point of view (no, this isn't a feminist suggestion, it just makes for something different)... Try it, you might like it
1984, also good, but hyped a lot, read it, love it, but don't listen to other's expectations...
Of course, this is all just bollards if you have already read them, but hey, I'm just a bird from up north

Canadian and Good in the same sentence? Surely not.
I'll keep the lassie in mind. Never been too keen on my fellow female writers...except for the ones I've mentioned. Women (mostly - always always ALWAYS exceptions) usually make a right pickle of politics. Which drives me up the wall. But I'll check her out...!
Thankyou!

OK then! Will do.
I've just read "Valley of the Dolls"...feel a bit deflated too. Was expecting something other than the Mother of all empowered-chick lit...
Key: Complain about this post
