~A midsummer night's random list~
cynthesis Started conversation Jun 23, 2006
I'm it.
My friend, Ivan the Terribly Average, tagged me to make up a list of eight random things about myself a couple of days ago at "http://cynthesis.wordpress.com/ (one of my blog spaces).
By the way, you're always welcome to pop by and visit. I'm still in the process of unpacking and getting things in order over there. You can never have too many retreats and hide-a-ways, and that's one of mine.
So, here are eight random things about me...
1)In my high school yearbook, I was voted as 'Easy On The Eyes' and 'Most Shy'.
2)I can be very klutzy. I once pushed an acknowledged world leader into a compost heap
in a London park. The acclaimed person had stepped forward to shake my hand.
I awkwardly lunged forward to reciprocate, lost my balance on a slippery bit of grass
and hurtled headlong, throwing the respected figure sprawling sideways
onto a steaming compost heap.
*sigh*
No further comments about this incident.
3)I ran and finished well in a marathon race.
The very next day, I promptly quit running forever.
4)I've got a bit of a drinking addiction.
I drink at least 3 litres of bottled natural spring water each day.
5)When I'm queueing at grocery stores I find myself taking inventory
of other shoppers' trolley cart contents.
I then imagine those people consuming and enjoying each of the edible and potable items.
6)I'm quite near-sighted but I don't wear my prescriptive contact lenses or glasses very often.
In fact, I prefer to see impressionist/pointillist images of audiences when performing concerts
because I'm less distracted that way.
Unfortunately, when I *do* don lenses, I tend to jump back and be startled
by clearly defined people approaching me.
7)I like the scents of orangeblossoms and jasmine. I grow them in my garden.
I wash with products made from them. I drink my flavoured with them...
8)I try to find something to love about every person that I encounter.
Admittedly, some people are more difficult than others to achieve this
but I like the challenge anyway.
That's all folks!
Now it's my duty to tag some of you to share 8 random things about yourselves
and for you to tag some more victimsfriends!
jaz'd, Wile E.,airscotia, lf2871,and CYBERHUMAN...
you've all just been tagged!

You are evil to me Cyinthesis! But ok I'll share, i just hope my list is as intresting as yours! Too be truthfull i can't think of much too add.
1) I have a list of famous people (or charictors - sometimes boath) that i dislike, it's an odd hobby but what the hey. On my list are Billie Piper (and rose tyler!)and britney spears too name a few. Natile portman used to be on there but she impressed me with V for Vendeta.
2) I have a bit of a drinking problem myself! I get through nearly four leatures of Diet Coke a day!!
3) I had never heard of, or seen, 'Doctor Who' to my knowldege before the new series started! Along with never haveing seen the 'X-Files' it's a constant source of amazement for others. What dot they think im some sort of Geek..
4) I'm an avid disliker of the 'Harry Potter' books, im sorry i just donr get the fasination! Too me there just a replay of the far better 'worst witch' series.
5) I'm not good with famous people, i tend to get TERRBLY shy and akeward. I have a list of people i am NEVER allowed to talk to ever. One of which is New Doctor (can i call him that?!?) David Tennant and old Doctor Christopher Eccelston because i would want to hug them boath and that would just be weird right..?
6) I've only ever cried at one book, and thats 'The Dark Tower' by Stephen King when one of my faverate charictors died..so sad..we dont talk about it..
7) I'm afraid of furbies, though im not entirely sure why. perhaps it's the voices or the eyes, i don't know. Daleks freak me out too. They are evil i tell you!! Evil.
8)Erm..er..My faverate film is Withnail and I.
Ok thats me!!

Hey lf!
You are a real pro at randomness!
FOUR litres of diet Coke. I was worried about you when I thought you only partook of TWO litres a day! No wonder you're always as busy with so many writing projects as you are...you are caffeine propelled! I'm just relieved that you appear to withstand the effects of megadoses of the stimulant so well.
You've never seen X-Files? There, there, that's easily remedied during the summer hols...you *do* amaze me!
Hugging David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston would be far from weird. I believe it would be a natural reaction for most of us die hard fans.*sigh*
Why do we always get on to this kind of topic when we chat?
*thinks of Jon Pertwee...and is able to resume*
I agree with you about furbies. There's just something intrinsically evil about them. And they are everywhere. Staring. Saying evil mind altering things ...*shudder*
Do you still have Bob the Dalek out in the open where he can watch you while you write? I think *he* is the prime source of any writer's block that you may experience. Evil. Vile. Kind of cute. But definitely worth considering about placing full blame upon for anything that goes wrong when writing!!!

I really liked your list as well, though your going to have to explain the second item further! What a great story that'l be!
Yeh i shouldn't really drink so much! It aint good for me.
I really should watch it..
'Hugging David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston would be far from weird'- i'm glad you agree but the people themselves might object!!
Hee Hee another person that agrees they are evil!! I do still have Bob my trusted dalek yes! and trust me he does get full blame.

The only thing I can add to the 2nd random thing is that I was immediately
covered by a plain clothed security person, while another extricated the aforementioned powerful individual from the pungent loamy heap.
I was ascertained to be harmless and was able to splutter my apologies to the fallen compost smeared bureaucrat, who merely gave me a shaky nod and a dismissive hand wave.
It was truly mortifyingly embarrassing...

Oh, you can't leave us in suspenders like this! (As the actress said to the bishop) WHO was it?
Did you demolish Maggie Thatcher? Tony Blair? George Bush? 2legs?
Go on, tell us, we might award you a special badge!

Hi Terri, JEllen... and Yoda and Micio, too!
*sigh*It was one of the names that you mentioned, Terri.
If only it *had * been 2legs, I'd be able to elaborate more in detail...
But it wasn't.
So I won't.
*shrugs*Sorry.

Well, i personally reckon any of that lot deserve to discover what it's like to be in the shit themselves, rather than merrily dishing it out to the rest of the world.
, i am proud to know you!

Ok eight things, this could take awhile...(lots of random flotsam'n'jetsam to sort through)
1) I drew or sketched for my school newspaper
2) some years later I wrote entertainment reviews & movie critiques for a small local counter culture-post-punk/new wave-newspaper or newsletter
3) *sigh*I admittedly also have a dribking problem...my version involves drinking a bit too much now'n'then...fortunately some of it decaf, so I do get some sleep
4) I roast my own coffee beans as opposed to either buying them already roasted or *shudder* already ground and packaged - who knows how long ago (which I guess somewhat explains #3)
4) I have a fascination with East Indian cuisine and music(in fact as I type I'm listening to (ok not Total East Indian)an Indian tabla player accompanying some Jazz clarinet
5) how's this for random-and 'reaching back'? as a teen years ago my Dad had played-the of the times-Dixieland Jazz(non-professionally), which partially explains my interest in Jazz music
6) real random, I'm currently listening(online)to an Australian radio program called Jazz Up Late-aired and recorded Fri. night Ozzy time
7) like you cynthesis I also did some ning-mine involving shorter distances: 100 and 200 metres
8) that rather brief track involvement switched to field involvement: discus, shot put & yes even the dangerous one-javelin

Thank you... O, Man of Mystery - Revealed!
*giggles*I'm glad that Ivan tagged me!
I'm getting to know a lot of interesting facts about my very favourite people!
I liked your list very much! Especially the source of your interest in Jazz and the brief glimpse into your past arts background.
Thanks for sharing!
Hmmm...maybe I should be using my journal more often. This wasn't as scary as I thought it might be...*ponders her past fickleness*

So...? I tag a few people, or what?
~A midsummer night's random list~
cynthesis Posted Jun 25, 2006
Yes!
The majority of people have tagged 5 friends.
I tagged 5(7,if you count the people that I tagged on LJ), but I've seen some people tag as few as 2.
No set rules, as far as I have seen...so tag as many as you are comfortable with.
