Hmmph. I didn't 'steal' it from anywhere. Er, I think. 
It's just one of the less alarming things that pop into my head each and every day. Plus, I seem to lack some sort of 'sensible' filter that should stop me voicing these thoughts. As an example, during a conversation about sex addiction (don't ask) I said that I was "a sex addict, but going through an extended period of cold turkey." Bad enough, but I followed it up with "Masturbation is my methadone..."
I need to stop saying things like that.

yeah, well, actually, that doesn't bother me overly. Which is strange, but I've been sort of numbed into submission on the issue...
This has been personal/work related. It'll pass.

Can I suggest that you keep a "witty remarks" diary, and note which ones are picked up on and which ones fall flat. There might be some sort of pattern
