You Think I Make This Stuff Up

You thought I was crazy for writing this in the first issue of the Post this month: A87883168
HA! I have just been over to my twitter account and signed up to 'follow' the following accounts:
@RogueNASA
@RogueEPA
This is not a joke. NASA's asking people to help BACK UP their pages by storing them on archive.org.
NASA, a world organisation, is asking people to samizdat their Stuff using the same search engine the Post Editor uses to hunt for fun titbits to titillate readers...
O tempora. O mores. (Go look it up while you still have an internet.)
And pay attention: The Doomsday Clock has been set forward by thirty seconds. That means it's back to where it was when I began talking. Maybe that means I should shut up. Anyway...go follow the rogue scientists. When they go low, we go high...how about orbit?
Philip K Dick, oh, how we need you...

I was watching with interest the revolt of the National Parks social media teams. They were a credit to themselves.
I've just read that the entire State Department senior management has quit. Mixed feelings about this - I completely understand their motivation and applaud their protest - but on the other hand it just makes it easier for Trump's fascists to fill all the key positions with their Yes-men. They'd get around to it anyway though, I've no doubt.

I share the mixed feelings about that - what's better, let it fall apart faster? Or stay and try to pick up whatever pieces are salvageable?
In the meantime, here's a group of women with lovely voices and a good song, at the end of this video:

I hope it's viewable from that side of the pond. In case not, it's Samantha Bee nattering about the post-inaugural women's march, followed by a group from the march with a song called 'I Can't Be Quiet'.

By natural temperament as much as any tactical sense, I think I'd probably remain in post as long as possible and be as obstructive as all hell.

I would at least have glued all their laptops shut, and put gerbils in their desk drawers.

It's happening faster than I thought it might. If I think about it for any length of time my mind starts to blur because there's too much to take in (real life is stressful so I don't have much spare brain power for anything else).
To cheer me up, here is a silly thing from another part of the internet that went:
"First they came for the scientists...
And the National Park Services said, "lol no" and went rogue and we were all like, "I was not expecting the park rangers to lead the resistance, none of the dystopian novels I read prepared me for this but cool."
I believe there is a hashtag for multiple agencies now that are using #twistance to get themselves out there.

I know, I swear someone tried to shoehorn in as much internetspeak as they could and still make it coherent. It made me giggle.

there used to be a joke about an (ex) African dictator, saying that he got shot in the head, but the bullet missed his brain by 3ft
could change names and (title/pres)
yike if undesired no worries, it's the thought that counts

Hmmm. It seems we may have been right to have reservations about the "mass resignations" at the top of the State Department. The Guardian is now reporting it as a purge, rather than a series of protest resignations. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/29/state-department-purge-trump-foreign-policy
Fairly deeply investigated and sourced, too.
It's looking more and more like a coup d'etat. I've never been one to carelessly bandy the word "fascist" around, but we're seeing a textbook case of it unfold.
Key: Complain about this post
