Perhaps someone should tell the BBC that they already *have* a service for "distilling of data into a portable format [like] Douglas Adams' iconic Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". smiley - erm

Admittedly you can't carry this one around with you, but you can access Hootoo from a mobile, can't you?

You can go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/h2g2/ on your mobile to get a version of h2g2 with fewer graphics and with guide entries split over several pages so they're easier to read. I have to admit I haven't really tried it myself (my phone is rather old, and I don't use it for internet access) but it seemed a shame that the news article referenced Douglas Adams with no mention of the guide to life, the universe and everything that he'd founded himself!

There's more information on accessing h2g2 from a mobile at A3769572. smiley - smiley

The general community areas are:

<./>Askh2g2</.> - "Ask the h2g2 Community", a general talking area which people also use for asking for advice.
<./>MiscChat</.> - Much sillier chat and trivia.
<./>GamesRoom</.> - Word games, puzzles and the like.
A4108330 - Science Explained forum.

Otherwise, just explore, follow links, and see where you end up. smiley - ok
