If you ever get the chance too, you'd better grab it! I wouldn't have thought there's so much to be done when it says 'final polishing' on the 'comingup' page. Perhaps less work to the entry itself, but all the virtual paperwork around it. Sending it off to the arts team, updating the h2g2 index, checking for additional BBC links & whatnot. Oh, and their mighty, mighty tools! Perhaps except for the thread moving thing which is still quite rudimentary, but the rest is

I fully intend to get there one day. I'd like to visit LighthousegirlUK and GreyDesk next year, and I know that LHG is a frequent visitor to the Towers when she's in London, often going for a or three with Abi , so I may tag along

How about the Winter meet-up then? Are you coming?

Fraid not.

1) I can't afford it right now, what with Mrs Gosho having been laid off recently and only just having found another job at about half her previous weekly pay

2) I'm far too used to this Austin weather now, and the idea of leaving Texas winter (sunny, between 18ºC and 24ºC) for London winter (grey, wet, miserable, 0 - 5ºC) doesn't really thrill me at all, not even to meet all you wonderful people

3) I'm not very good at things like meets - I prefer smaller gatherings at nice restaurants over games of rounders in Hyde Park and piss-ups at some huge pub nearby.

I can understand #1 and #2, but #3 is just what h2g2 meetings are all about!

What with all the new technologies... I should perhaps ask for a new h2g2 feature: video-conferencing the meet into all five continents!
