That was a annoying waste of time.

Do not go to that website unless you really like looking at a series of progress bars, clicking on agreement statements, entering your email address and setting a password, only to then be asked to spend money to see any results.

I did not know that. It just told me the persons I tried to look up (myself and D. Trump) didn't exist. I was never asked for money or information that is known to the World already

again! What I meant was: "information that is NOT known to the World already" (my first and last name)

I hate that site. It keeps intruding and blocks me from doing other things unless I reboot the computer.

Yeah, I expect to start getting spam since I gave them my email address.

I only give my name/address to friends - or bloody government dept's etc

I suspect that site wasn't actually malignant. I ran a virus check and it was clear. That site was just one of many such sites that monetize such searches and their pricing was in line with others. For some businesses, paying for such searches is worthwhile. They consolidate results from other databases that also charge for access.

That doesn't mean I think they aren't shady as hell, just not actively malignant.

I ran a check myself and my Mac turned out to be clean as a whistle. As always

(I have heard about malware infected Macs but neither I nor anybody I know have ever had a concrete problem)
