Your page seems content free! Seems, indeed. «Sigh» So few can truly pull it off. I know I never could.
Well, I did stop by your page just for the heck of it, however I do have a ºtinyº motive: I'm an ACE; basically I go about greeting people, (hello again), and making sure that they can make their way about h2g2 (more about that over here: http://www.h2g2.com/A214796).
If you follow that link I'm sure that you'll be finding some very interesting entries, more or less akin to newsgroup entries

Too kind. Nice to know that people care. First question (probably of many) is how do we know what guide entries to add. I know the dont panic page says anything you like but surely the greater community are crying out for information about something?

Well, to be honest, anything you write has a great chance, as long as it isn't a work of fiction, of being accepted (gold mines would be entries on your hometown- h2g2 goes gaga for them). However, it is always good to see if someone has already written an entry on the subject before you write it. Recently How-Tos are popular.
If you're convinced that your entry is supreme, all you have to do is hit the button marked "up for approval" (or something very similar) and your entry will be put into a queue for submission as a bona fida entry (there are five accepted every day, and the queue is currently diminishing quickly).
However, that doesn't mean that your entry won't be part of the guide if it is turned down for official submission- every entry is a part of the guide
