Excuse the sheer impertinence...but if someone was spending a night and a day in Copenhagen at the end of the month (on the way home from Gothenburg), what would be the places to eat/ drink/ see?

OK, a walk along the waterfront from Den Lille Havfrue (the little mermaid) to Nyhavn would be the thing - a wonderful view across the harbour to one of the islands - all teh old architecture and industrial buildings... now renovated, boats, ships coming and going all the time, the Royal Palace at Amalienberg, Han Christian Andersen's house and the old harbour at Nyhavn - you can get all that in in one walk of 1 - 2 hours - lots of cafes and things at Nyhavn if you finish there, and at Langelinie before the Little Mermaid.

A good place to eat there is Spiseloppen... but NOWHERE in Copenhagen is cheap!

Good eateries include:
Leh Leh Na Lhang (or something) Vietnamese place on Vesterbrogade
Indian restaurants on Istedgade
Also, other things...
Louisiana Art Gallery - 40 minutes by train from the main station - get off at Humlebæk, and walk 15 mins-- an art gallery on a hill overlooking the sound.. also has a good cafe.
Statens Museum for Kunst - the natonal art gallery
