Hi Croz,
Following your advice on your journal entry Having a Wii under the tree for Crozmas, I am now awaiting the arrival of our console, and was wondering which games you have tried already and would you recommend them.

So far the only games I've got specifically for it are Wii Sports, Wii Play, WarioWare Smooth Moves, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Excite Truck. I suspect it's down to me spending so much time downloading virtual console games I missed first time round.

Sports and Play are good for getting used to the controller, the added advantage of Play being that it comes bundled with a much-needed second controller. The bowling and tennis games on Sports are great fun with two or more people.

WarioWare is totally barking mad. Although primarily one player it does have some multiplayer modes and a few two player specific minigames.

Rayman, although good is probably the least played of the games I've got so far.

Twilight Princess is a must-own for fans of the Zelda series and is a great example of how an action RPG can be pulled off with this novel control method.

Excite Truck is pretty good. It's tricky at first to get used to doing stunts, but once you've got the hang of it you'll be pulling 1080° air spins with ease.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Super Paper Mario when it's finally released over here. I quite liked Paper Mario & The Thousand Year Door on the Gamecube so this RPG-esque platformer sounds like good fun.

Ahhhhhh, so many more questions now!

I never played Zelda before, but it looks great. Do you have to know the backstory for it?

Player would probably be one of the first games to get then, as we both want to play.

Did you try the game with Sword or Blade in the title, which name escapes me right now?

Which games can you download? Do you pay for downloading? How do you get them onto the console?

I got the impression that WarioWare was like Mario- is this a wrong impression? Never heard of Paper Mario- what's that??

Can't wait now... hubby's bringing it home tonight and we'll try and play on it. Is it easy enough to install?
