Apart from that I would like to thank you for all the help and support you have given me so far Nick, you are a true friend

I'm uncomfortable with people being forced to attend a church service. A non-ecumenical memorial service would be something I'd be happier with.

I absolutely don't do funerals - never have and the thought that I'd ever be forced to attend one make me shudder.

Having said that - if it is the only way to get all the people together who missed what was coming... then it's just something that has to be done.

suicide can be seen as the coward's way out -of course none of us saying that have ever actually done it. Who knows what courage it takes. Goodness, the poor chap probably knew exactly what it would do to his family - and yet he still thought it was his only solution.

It's all too awful

There are ways for a simple coward to "escape" the world. The route he chose, to my mind, showed that he had a serious and irrevocable need. No one will ever know why, ... And if it was as much emotional, psycholigical or biolgical, we probably still would never understand.

The services have passed. His family have had a chance to try to find what comfort they can, which is really the most important thing. All I can hope is that if he is yet "somewhere", he has found the escape and peace that he was so desperate for. May his mind, body and soul be at peace ...

On that note, having run it's time, I am closing out this journal from my Personal Space. Any further replies, I'll not likely see. Thank you, all friends, for your support, advice and simply "being there".
