I'm doing fine, thanks, though I've been up since 3 am. I have to intentionally throw myself off-schedule this week-end, with a very busy week ahead. Beginning with a 3 am depart from home on Monday.
And have you any idea how long since I've heard anyone else mention Tomita? I have a poor recording, but it still sends shivers. Somehow, a lot of that synthsizer finds nooks in a soul.
And just as a btw, ... despite an ex-wife taking and losing 100+ cassettes, I still have around 500 or so that I am patiently putting to CD. A very lovely shareware program, that is far more talented and patient than I am. "Spin-It Again"

Wow Denny's gone too, only Michelle left
Zallie said, "Denny, you know there aren't many
Who can sing a song the way that you do; let's go south."
Denny said, Zallie, golly, don't you think that I wish
I could play guitar like you."
Zal, Denny, and Sebastian sat (at the Night Owl)

I did a bit of looking at the IMDB last night. Did you know there was a brief reprisal of the Mama's and the Papa's in the 80's and 90's? With Scott McKenzie (Are you going, to San Fran-cisco) filling in for Denny, and Mackenzie Phillips singing for Mama Cass ... The trivia you can find.

Other trivia ... John Phillips and Scott McKenzie wrote "Kokomo" for the Beach Boys.

Scott MacKenzie was number 1 when my brother was born (San Fransisco) and we (that is, I) still have the single my mum bought. Not his best song, but if it catches me unawares it brings on a full nostalgia attack. (not sure why, I was 3 when it came out)
I love Tomita because he brings new angles to classical music, or just his own wierd and strange concoctions - but they are lovely to listen to and very restful. His Pictures At an Exhibition is fantastic. (I only have his stuff on vinyl, and at the moment no way to get the LPs on CD)
Vangelis is a bit like Tomita with knobs on.
This idea of reviving bands with replacements for dead members is a bit much for me. On the whole I prefer to listen to originals.

Kinda like those foolish rumours a few years back, a Beatles re-union but using Julian Lennon. He may look somewhat right, his voice can be near perfect in some tracks ... But he isn't John.
No, I quite like untainted or unmodified as well.

Mama Cass appeared in Pufnstuf as Witch Hazel and an episode of Young Dr Kildare
Michelle Phillips has been on telly and films for years, Knots Landing, New Adventures of Superman, Spin City, Star Trek TNG, Diagnosis Murder, Providence, Beverley Hills 90210 to name a few.
And of course, pop group Wilson Philllips consisted of Carnie and Wendy Wilson (Daughters of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys) and Chynna Phillips (Daughter of John and Michelle Phillips)
You're not the only one who's head is full of useless facts Nick

Ye gods, woman, you too remember H.R. Puf'n'stuf? I had hoped that I was the only one who was still dememted enough to remember Jack Wilde and that stuff.

I remember HR Puffenstuff (sp?) but I remember it as a series from Sunday evenings. I was shocked a few years (8?) ago to see it as a film on TV - and spotted Mama Cass right away.
As far as I know WilsonPhilips (who were tripe) hold the record for cancelling a tour because not one ticket had been sold. (but the only source I have for that is )

I know it was a pathetic children's program, that our TV of the day could collect once or twice a week. And I seem to recall a single movie of it. Some folks will do anything for money, eh?

Bought a more manageable suitcase just today. Our "set" has one that measures 26" tall, and the next size is 20". Very much like Goldilocks, ... too big or too small. The new one ought to be about right for my work-travel needs.
And hopefully rugged enough to face the abuses of the airlines. Damn, but they can be hard on stuff !!!

well yes I hear that internal flights can be harder than international ones, having noted your comments it sounds right.
Lets hope that the baggage is ok on your trip to England. I may have missed it but have you visited before.

I've not been away from North America. The military sent me for a summer of training in Florida once, and this past August, I spent a couple of weeks in New York state. Other-wise, I've stayed in this little country called Canada. September will be our greatest adventure, a once in a lifetime thing, most likely.
