Actually, I'm down east, to Nova Scotia. One of the tamer provinces for winter weather. But yeah, once the work day is done, and I'm back to the hotel, I'll be checking the wires and threads. My "travel companion" seeks hotels based on broadband internet availability.

Not yet ... Any minute, hour or day though. THAT will be another journal, or perhaps a continuation of another.

Oh trust me, ... as soon as I know, so will the wired world. And the earliest pics will be added to my little Fotki page.

Can I invite any attendant canadians to just pop over and defend themselves at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/F1892037?thread=3811296&show=20&skip=40#pi47 TA

I appreciate the invite, my friend. But I will decline with thanks. Some places and cirlces, I am not particularly 'welcome' in.
But take yer best s. We Canucks is plenty tough, and with one helluva collective sense of humour.

I knew you guys wouldn't mind, otherwise I would have blamed North Korea.

Personally, I would have narrowed the blame to the Hawaiians. All of those lua's keep warming up the Pacific Ocean, ... hence El Nino, ... and the domino effect all the way across to the UK and beyond. That is some ugly weather, damages and fatalities across Europe today ...
A Rev Nick Journal: A day of introspection ...
benjaminpmoore Posted Jan 18, 2007
I might have said that too, but I wasn't sure how to spell Hawai. Sp?

I think it has two "I"s ... And it always feels like a wrong twist to the tongue.
Earlier, I asked, ... the two little furries? Any success of bringing them home yet?

You did, but by the time I got here to conversation had moved on. NO sign for ages, Clare thinks that if they are still alive they may have gone wild and be surviving, somehow, perhaps in the garden. In a way I hope they are dead, but I think it unlikely we shall see them again.

Then the best thought is that they did find a way out, and nestled in somewhere for the season. I am sorry, my friend. I know how each and every one has found a way into the hearts of you and the missus.

Well you have to accept that even the healthiest of hamsters won't live for more than five years max anyway, so you are always going to loose a few (we reckon Clare has been through over 30 since she was 8) but there are always new ones in need of a happy home, you just have to move on, don't you?

We don't give home to such a menagerie, but we also have the real perspective with our cats. Love them and enjoy them while they can be with us. It's all us "old folks" can do.
So then, not much lighter, ... how'd your neck of the woods fare with todays storm and winds? I've seen that it's been very ugly across much of the UK and into the rest of Europe.

We haven't been out today, partly because it's my day off, partly because we had some stuff to do in the kitchen, but also because the weather outside was so horrible. According to the local news one man in Eatsbourne was nearly killed when he was hit by a roofing tile and I gather than winds nationwide have reached as high as 99mph, a curiously non-round number. As far as we can see the immediate road has not suffered too much damage, but I think across the region and the nation it has been quite severe. How is the weather where you are?

We had ugly stuff at the start of the week, but have settled in to our more normal January stuff. A cold and grey day today, with the promise of snow in the air ... And what we had earlier will await me in Nova Scotia next week. Oh yay.
