The reason they hire 18-21 year olds is the same reason my boss does, money. 18-21 get paid £4.45ph and over 21 have to be paid the full rate minimum wage £5.35 I think it is now, it may not seem a lot on paper but hiring an 18 year old instead of a 21 year old saves a good couple of thousand a year in wages

I think she was blackmailed into giving me a job, or realised that she's never get anyone else to do it, I'm not looking forward to trying to get another job when this one finally winds up

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

I joined our military when very young. And so the only time I needed to interview for a job was when I was 38. It was pretty much a "done deal", and yet I was all a-quiver. I'd really not be comfy with such a thing at 47 !!! smiley - yikes But somehow, I know I'd pull off a cool and professional appearance, just as you will, Sho. smiley - smiley

Actual printed tickets won't be dispensed until a few weeks before departure. In case timings fluctuate somewhat. But yep, seats are reserved, money committed, and milady's fingernails got nibbled a lot shorter. smiley - laugh

Congrats on a well-done interview, Sho. I will keep a very good thought for you, hoping that you will hear something positive in the very near future. smiley - smiley

Indeed. Before we approached the travel agent, my wife ensured she had approved vacation time. Her boss is quite a spitey and fickle wench. Today I pushed my own vacation request through. So it's just a matter of waiting out the time, and scratching every nickel, dime and dollar we can together. As things look, we ought to have a tidy sum for an enjoyable visit, without hurting on a day-to-day basis before.

This HAS been tentatively planned for a bit over a year. In fact, the week of the January '06 London Meet was the impetus.

I've been asked a few times, "when did you last take a real vacation?". I've used my time to visit and assist family with projects. I've used time to create a major project in my own home. The last time that I took vacation time, just for the sake of time away, was a week before I married. THE FIRST TIME !!! Spring-time of '81.

I think I am due. smiley - laugh
