Fermenting Intelligence

Okay, here's an overview of me.
I'm a 26 year old American, from Wisconsin. I grew up poorer than infertile soil and never lived in one location for more than five years. My mom's an irregularly medicated manic-depressive, and growing up with her rapic cycling was...interesting.
It was tough, but I survived it, so I'm not complaining.

I'm the eldest of my siblings, there are six of us. Two are biologically related to me, three are step-siblings.

I've been told I'm "smart," but I think the person giving me the results of my intelligence test forgot to add "ass" to the assessment. At least I'm not a dumbass, right?
My total I.Q. tally came out to 145, but I don't know what to do with it.
I've tried construction, which I was fairly good at.
I tried the U.S. Navy. I loved that, but they screwed up my feet and discharged me.
Now I can't be in the military OR build houses. Big bummer there.
I tried college, didn't do so well last semester, so I'm taking a break to find out if my brain slipped loose from its moorings or something like that.
Now all I have to do is figure out what I can do with 145 I.Q. points, stellar typing and organizational office skills and a military/construction background.
If a random reader out there has any good suggestions, I want to hear them.

I like reading unconventional materials; religion, history, science fiction, Harry Potter, anything by C.S. Lewis and things of that nature.
I'm not one for those "romantic" novels you see in supermarkets and Wal-Mart. They make me simultaneously laugh and want to tear my brain out with frustration at the factual errors I find. Naturally I avoid them like they're covered with the Ebola virus.
I wish I had half the talent of my favorite writers and could contribute something to the literary world that'll last as long as the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Musically, I lean more towards The Beatles, The Who, U2, Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Disturbed, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, Evanescence, Avenged Sevenfold and Smile Empty Soul. I also enjoy orchestral pieces like the 1812 Overture and movie soundtracks like the Lord of the Rings.

My T.V. and movie habits are a lot like my musical and literary tatstes. I've got the range from Psychological Thrillers, some Old Romances from the 1950s and 60s, a couple musicals, Campy Horror, Historically based Dramas, CSI, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dr. Who, Scrubs, Firefly, lots of Disney cartoons...well I suppose you get the idea.
