You're from Australia as well? Where exactly, may I ask? (me: nation's capital)

I guessed that as soon as I read your article on Canberra! Last time I wrote I was Exuberance personified, and hopefully I will be again soon, but I just heard DNA was dead.

Which Collins is your place of residence nearest to?

Collins? As in the bookstore?

Either the Tuggeranong or Woden one is 'closest', but I avoid Collins where possible. I prefer Angus and Roberson or Dymocks. Especially Dymocks with their rather nice 'points' system lately smiley - smiley

Dymocks is currently not stocking (ok,ok, it's not their fault) a book that I really, really want. And Collins has lots of HP stuff. And me & co. have about $130 worth of book vouchers for the place. But when I have money I'll go somewhere else. Dymocks does have Terry Pratchett. And I have a $10 voucher for Angus & Robertson. So I guess they're all good. (I'm a poor student - saving up to go to New Zealand)

I got the latest Terry Pratchett (Thief of Time) at Angus and Robertson, Woden. It seems they weren't expecting it for a month. I got the first one on the shelf (i.e. they were just unpacking them). So that seems a good reason to shop there smiley - winkeye

As for vouchers, I have /lots/ for Dymocks, and have found Collins at Tuggeranong useless (and generally rude), and the one at Woden to be not rude, but they don't have good ranges in the areas I read.

very good reasons. Collins...doesn't cater for varied interests

How desparately sad - two other Australian DNA fans in Canberra no less and me a year too late to talk to either of you! smiley - sadface

(Thank you for your Canberra entry Mr Wolf - very impressive. Perhaps rather too little about Manuka in my opinion.

Well, not too late perhaps, more like too late to follow the Collins/Dymocks thread with anything like a measure of punctuality. This would not be a problem for my wife. She retains the ability to return to a conversation from a 10 year break and carry on from where she left off. All part of the somewhat cryptic charm of our household. Admitedly, being a public servant, I too have finely honed skills in picking up an issue after 12 months and responding as if the question was asked yesterday. This can be very convenient when the answer might have been unpalatable had it been more prompt. "No, minister, we have a perfectly healthy relationship with Germany." being an excellent example of this approach.
