You're not that bad either.
Keep contributing -
it is not a competition or a battle of wits
but the more people add, the cleverer it gets.

Sorry about the sloppy entries to the acrostic post. Someone once said of me - as an architect - 'he covers a lot of ground but needs several people behind him to pick up the bits'!
When I write - as a journalist - I read, re-read, read again, counter-read and then check - what I write. I am sorry, the poems are just fun, I write them in a matter of minutes and post them too quickly.
Maybe just trying to be too clever - again sorry.

I don't see a need to apologise for being human.
Your poem was/is brilliant, but you had a typo in it, or two, so what? I mean, it's not that you get paid for it, or that people's lives depend on your accuracy. It is as you said: fun, and it should stay fun. And fun means, being relaxed about the odd mistake made by somebody. If this wasn't hootoo, you'd just go and edit what you wrote. But as it is, you'll have to live with any mistakes you made/make, we all have, and nobody is perfect.

Thanks - I don't like being careless, but I am. I don't think of my poems as being any more than (perhaps clever) doggerel rubbish. I think I will re-write the entire FIDIC (International Building Contract) in rhyme - that really would be something to be proud of!!!!!

I think you just need an area where you can be somewhat careless, we all need a balance, soemthing to make up for other things that destine our lives, a sort of ventile even. I can't really judge because I don't know what it takes you to write them, but your poems don't look like rubbish to me.

You know, pride is a mysterious thing, sometimes, you're proud of something but for the 'wrong' reasons entirely.

Correct - I used the wrong word - it should have been 'ultimate joke'.
Someone asked me recently why I have few photos of the $600m worth of buildings I have built. I have (had) thousands of them - being built - but I never felt the need to go back and take a picture when they were finished. Twas done - finished - move on. Similarly, I can recite poetry for hours but I cannot remember a single one that I have written.
I don't think I can be accused of ever being 'proud'. Arrogant - yes - opinionated - probably, but not proud of anything very much.

Poor Yogabiker, we're cluttering up his messages - and it's me who's guilty in this case.
I guess we'd rather move this conversation to your message centre and go on talking there.

No problem at all. It feels like having company and nobody much ever comes over. Welcome. I wonder if this is a little bit like what it feels like to be popular. I can only guess. I should add you two to my friends list. Does anyone mind?

Thanks, I don't mind at all, but be prepared to have one of my journals pop up in your conversation list every now and then.

I don't think I have any 'friends' - I have never been that far down my home page. No objections though.

They don't pop up on your PS like messages left for you, you have to go to people's personal spaces and add them by clicking on the 'Add To Friend' link if you feel so inclined.

Maybe that's why I always sit in the corner of the pub, doing the crossword. What if I ask and they say 'NO - eff off'. Better not to ask.

Not everybody asks anyway, I'm quite used to suddenly finding my name on people's lists, especially since I started being an ACE.
I'm even on lists from people I've never talked to.

No - you are right - you posted one to me 'I'll never forget'. My brain has gone stiff today.
