An Introduction
It seems the done thing here is to introduce myself, even if the introduction is somewhat trivial. So - facts!
- My name is Tom.
- I am not in fact notorious.
- I live in London.
- I am a scientist.
- I came here to contribute information about kebabs.
- I am really curious as to how h2g2 compares to everything2. And why they both have the digit 2 in their names - chance, or SINISTER INTERNET CONSPIRACY? So far, there seems to be a lot less and poetry and discussion about meeting girls, which are staples of e2.
- I invented the concept of a user-editable website while working at the New Scientist in 1995 (yes, really) but they called me mad, the fools, and it never came to pass. I was using Ward's Wiki back when it was still about design patterns, in '97 or so. I therefore consider myself an old fart when it comes to this whole business.
- I like loud shirts.
