Oh yes!! Twice, both at Newport - great venue for them, not too big. Also saw Rich Robinson a year ago when on his solo tour, he is SOOOOOOOOOOoo talented and there were only 150 of us in the pub to appreciate it. Don't know if I want to see them if they tour over here now post break-up/reformation...the idea of a grown-up Chris Robinson is a little weird!
Hey - did you check out the ticking off from Cheyenne in my PS? My first semi threatening posting on HooToo!

Twice?
I saw them for the first and only time at Glastonbury '95. If ever a band was a perfect choice to play the main stage as the sun set, they were
I think it was the carpets they have laid on the stage that topped it for me
Then Oasis came on, and ruined the ambiance completely

I did have a quick lurk at Cheyenne's post, i'm still waiting for him to jump on mine in the 'Life on Mars' thread. It'd be nice if you could escape that sort of thing on here *sigh*

I've been trying to remember what they played, and can dimly remember 'Hard to Handle' and the lovely keyboard and guitar solos from 'Wiser Time', then I found this site, which gives their playlist! http://www.crowesbase.com.
Ahhh, it's all coming back

Great link!
"We got a, we got a jam you know, and sometimes this jam has a name. And sometimes the jam's called "A Buzzard who Eats Emeralds," and sometimes it's called, "A Generous Buzzard," you know, so you got two to choose from. 'Cause I mean, as far as choosing your, you know, your favorite buzzard, you know, you gotta have more than one choice. So you pick which one you want to use and I hope you dig this..."
I remember it, I remember it from Newport in 92! Can remember thinking I want some of what he's on!"
Also remember the Verve supporting - they were dire....mass exodus to the bar!

There's a gag in there somewhere about how the drugs don't work...
Reminds me of the ramblings of Christopher Barron from the Spin Doctors, on the first track of their live album 'Homebelly Groove'
"Everybody, how you feeling? I think I feel a mood in here, it's hovering, right up here. I can see it, I can see it, it's lime green, but it's blue around the edges. Can you see that up there? The vibe? Can you see the vibe? This is a vibe i'll tell ya! You could eat this one with... chopsticks!"

One of the great perks of being a famous rock & roller is that you get to talk complete and utter cr*p for a living! Strangely enough, Rich Robinson came over as a really nice guy and he was having a LOT of fun playing his stuff without his big bro around!

Only JUST found out that they're playing Shepherd's Bush in March and of course it's sold old (unless I want to pay £85 a ticket!)

Hello!
And sorry for being so rude, I didn't get round to replying to your previous message, and then this conversation slipped down my conversation list and...
well, you know.
So, sorry!
How weird, playing Shepherd's Bush, and then Holland and then going back to the US. Have you checked out the Dutch gigs? flights going over there are pretty cheap

Just checked out the Amsterdam venue's website, it's sold out too
and was also very badly designed as regards to navigation (notwithstanding the fact it was in Dutch!)

Amsterdam would've been out anyway - no time off left at work!
Never mind - they'll probably come back over at some point later in the year unless Chris' ego stops him!

Going anywhere nice? Greece?
I've just got back from working at a great gig, Chumbawamba Acoustic. Really nice four part harmony singing, lovely voices
Hurt my back loading the PA in though

Greece! yay! When do you go, and where to exactly?
A couple of my friends have been over the past few summers, one working as a holiday rep and one doing musiciany things I've never been, a fact which I intend to remedy this summer
Back's still poorly I've been sitting at my Mac all day, and had forgotten about it until I tried to get up, i'm walking round like John Wayne

Backpacking round Crete for 10 days in June and the Dodecanese in October! Managed to get it down so that if we go cheap and cheerful we can manage twice a year! I'd love to go back out for a summer, but it's financing ourselves for the winter that would be the problem!
Try and keep moving, bad backs don't like sitting still!
