Hello there. Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I'm a Scottish gal who longs to visit your wonderful country someday. Especially to visit some of those hockey events that you're privvy to.

Well then welcome to my PS. I'm Nick, and my little intro pretty much sums me up.
Fairly new to the H2G2?

Hi Nick. I'm Jane.
No i'm an old regular here. Have't had access to a pc for awhile and don't get the chance to get in much. I quite miss the place. There will come the day when i'll be back for good. How long have you been a researcher?
Intro
The Reverend Something or Other Posted Jul 15, 2004
I read Mr Adam's last book in March and it made lots of references, so I had to check it out. I have enjoyed a number of the word games, but they are usually most active when I'm at work. So, instead of missing lots or getting simul-posts, they've kinda fallen by the way. Now I mostly chat with a bevy of friends.
What's your primary interests here, when you do get about?
Intro
Detective Armani Posted Jul 15, 2004
I usually just like to catch up with the friends i made here. I used to like to get involved with a lot of the groups here. The united friends are good with their word games.
The thing i like most about this site is that everyone is friendly and approachable. Varied too.

Aren't they? And I've come to know a lot of geography and culture that I normally never would have. The majority of my new friends are British, but there are Norwegians, Scots, Aussies, a few other North Americans, a couple of Germans and an Egyptian. You don't run into that variety at the corner market, eh?
Intro
Detective Armani Posted Jul 15, 2004
Certainly not. I love that too. Learning about other countries and cultures. I'm very much a people person. I've always been interested in how we all tick. How we humans are similar and different. What we care about and what angers us. Does that sounds weird?
I must apologise if i'm not making a lot of sense at the moment. I recently experienced some brain trauma and i'm a little slower than i used to be. My though process is sometimes a little cloudy.
Intro
The Reverend Something or Other Posted Jul 15, 2004
You're coming through quite clear, dear. Might I inquire what caused the trauma, or is that too personal?
Intro
Detective Armani Posted Jul 15, 2004
Not at all. I had an anuerism last november. Wasn't caused by anything. Just something that happens, so i'm told. Apparantly many people are born with imperfections in their arteries. They might burst at any time in their life or not at all. Since it happened to me, i've discovered that it's quite a common thing. I've been really though. There is only a 33% survival rate apparantly.
Intro
The Reverend Something or Other Posted Jul 15, 2004
To my knowledge, they are something that "just happen" and no previous diagnosis will normally find them. One of my favorite musicians, Gordon Lightfoot, survived on in 2002 and has just released a new CD. Easily as good as any from the '70s onward. If survived, I understand that most recovery to normal is a good chance. You do have my well-wishes, friend.
Must now get on with my work day. Hopefully, we'll chat some more, perhaps find a few common interests other than the study of people.

Oh, and btw, I did glance at your PS and see we have one friend in common, the lady Serephina/Sandra. Take a look down my PS friends list, you'll probably see a number of other folks we know, atleast on the threads.
and a to you, Jane

Nope, no secrets passed out of school to Sandra or others.
And do feel free to add me to your list. I am honoured. I hope I may do the same? I haven't yet anything of note to put in a journal, but you may expect one in late August when a young man, Nathan takes his first breathes. Second direct grandchild, third in all. (I'm ollllld, almost 45 !!!)
Intro
Detective Armani Posted Jul 15, 2004
No i don't mind at all. Would love it in fact.
45 isn't old. I'm 30 and i have friends much older than you. Had a minor thing a guy in his early fifties too. (Is that bad)
I look forward to reading all about Nathan. Is he going to be your first grandson?

My girl, Mavis, will be 23 this September and is from a first marriage. Her husband, (they married on my 16th anniversary, Sept '03) has a 6-yr-old Rebecca who has called us Poppy and Nanna for several years. Together, Mavis and Jimmy have made Nicky, in Feb '02. So Nathan will be grand #3 in all, and boy #2.
Have you a relationship/marriage and kids?
Intro
Detective Armani Posted Jul 15, 2004
Thankfully not. I was in a relationship from when i was 19 till i was 26. Got my fingers burned and i'm really not looking for anything like that again. Not for a long time anyway. As for children, i'm not the maternal type. I do like kids and i am really good with them but it's not for me. I respect people who can raise a family. I think i'm too selfish for all that. I like doing my own thing and being in control.

Each person has their own way, and I judge not at all. So long as a person can find a comfort zone, that is really what counts.
As to relationships, also your choice, but there is much to be said for coming home to a "right" person, gender irrelevant.
For now, I'm away as my lady should be home from work shortly. Please do have a fine evening/night, and we'll meet up again for awhile.
G'night Jane-of-Scotland.
Nick

Unless you cause me to think elsewise, you are indeed a noble lady worthy of a title, aren't you?
