I see you are interested in travel. I trust you have read Bill Bryson's books? I've only read a few myself but they are remarkably brilliant at being both informative and hilarious at every juncture.

Where in particular do you like travelling to, by the way? Myself I haven't been out of Europe, but I would very much like to see some things in Canada or the USA.

Hello back.
Yes, I think I've got them all (but not the one he just did about history and science and stuff).
In fact I've just reviewed the 'Small Island' one for The Post (not published there yet, but we shall see).
Have you read Tony Hawks' 'Round Ireland with a Fridge' and his other two? Hilarious.

Round Ireland with a Fridge? Surely a freezer would be far more useful? But no, I haven't read them. There are too many books I haven't read and I just can't keep up!

Ooh, just seen your second post.
Well, I did a lot of Europe (interrailing plus holidays) and have also holidayed in Sri Lanka, Mexico, NYC and Jamaica. Obviously these were primarily holidays but I do like to see a bit of the real life, visit museums and places of interest if possible too.
Would also like to see more of the USA and also go to Canada.

When you get a minute read the fridge book. Very funny. Why would anyone take a fridge round a country? Exactly.
In his second book he plays each member of the Moldovan football team at tennis.
In the third one he tries to have a top ten hit in Europe with the help of Norman Wisdom.

Sounds very funny. Do you have any plans about places to go next?

No, am just back from Jamaica. Gotta save the pennies again.
Spouse wants to go sailing somewhere (again - we did the Greek islands on a yacht before). I'm not as keen on sailing but I like the mooring-and-finding-an-eaterie that happens later!
I've always been wary of the Far East, everyone else seems to want to go there but I'm not keen.
And I was a student in Russia about 10 or so years ago. Could write my own book about that!
Key: Complain about this post
